Every once in a while, an artist comes along who causes us to pause for a moment and wonder, “Why in the hell do we even have genres?” Yultron is a musician of such versatility whose path more resembles the forked blaze of a lighting bolt than any sort of linear progression. Indeed, role descriptors need to be reshuffled to describe this multitalented emcee, remixer, straight-up rapper, producer, and DJ who has of late turned to address EDM full-time, never deviating from his original operating premise: “Why not create something that hasn’t been done?”
Having only produced for three years, Yultron has also gained support from veteran acts such as Flosstradamus and Jack U who play out his songs in major festivals around the world. his variety of taste in production ranges from bass music to electro house and his integration of all these different genres translates in his live shows as well. From Fall 2016 into Winter 2017 Yultron toured around the USA and Canada on the Marshmello tour as well as the Getter, Snails, Slushii while simultaneously heading his own shows around the world. Yultron also has some major releases coming up this year including a single with Insomniac Records and consecutive releases with Spinnin Records featuring Bone Thugs and Jay Park and the other with Snoop Dogg and Elly from the J Soul Brothers.

The Mid-Week BEATS continue and we welcome DJ Taye in from Chicago. He will celebrate the release of his new album *Still Trippin* on the Hyperdub Label. Expect a night that pushes the threshold of Juke and Footwork with the bars and raps to match!
Support comes from the Liquorish Records crew who have been holding down the footwork scene in Amsterdam from the beginning.
Ticket info coming soon.
A generation younger than the founders of the Teklife crew, DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn, DJ Taye was originally a rapper and beat maker before hooking up with the collective and jumping headfirst into the world of footwork production, dancing and DJing.
However, it was Rashad’s untimely passing in 2014 that was the unlikely catalyst for developing the sounds and ideas for this album.
He says, "When Rashad passed away I felt inspired to continue evolving the music that I loved so much coming up in this world. So, I had to do something…make something brand new."
100% committed to pushing further the potential of the footwork template; "Still Trippin” is ambitious in its range and scope. Taking two years to formulate, the record broadens the possibilities of the sound, forcing it to adapt to songwriting, and also revives Taye’s talent for MCing and producing beats to which he can rap and sing. Furthermore Taye definitely ups the ante with his complex and precise drum programming, never losing sight of footwork’s ability to confound.
The album features a range of guests that span contemporary music; the eccentric, instructive rapping of Chuck Inglish of Midwest duo the Cool Kids is featured on "Get It Jukin," Odile Myrtil, a young vocalist from Montreal, lends her smokey soul to "Same Sound," Fabi Reyna, the editor of the celebrated women’s guitar magazine, "She Shreds," sings and plays bass guitar and rhythm guitar on "I Don’t Know" and Jersey club queen, UNIIQU3, offers production and rapping on "Gimme Some Mo."
Also, Teklife members DJ PayPal and DJ Manny assist on production, and DJ Lucky is a guest MC on “Smokeout."

◈Mya Gomez - INMATE (NON)◈
"INMATE is a synthesis of my traumas, past and present. The hardship that really inspired this EP was when I was on my way to London and was detained in Yarlswood, an immigration removal center, for 10 days until I was allowed an escorted deportation back to Los Angeles.
My working process is very odd I think, I still feel so much like a child but with refined political beliefs, so I think I try to execute my music with that child-like mindset of always being unpredictable and maybe a bit anxiety-inducing. While working on INMATE I was very much in love and like Chino Amobi says, "You kind of kill yourself when you love." My melodies kind of served as love letters and my drums served as an outlet for my frustration."—Mya Gomez
