This increase in users has also resulted in an explosion of new social media platforms and internet streaming services. Streaming services have made it possible to view Bollywood movies conveniently from one’s sofa or mobile device.
Movies are a great window into a new world and an excellent method to get insight into other cultures. They’re fun, and if you know where to look, you may find some outstanding life lessons. Kabir Singh
An alcoholic and drug addict, Dr. Kabir is a surgeon in this adaptation of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. He defies his parents’ desires and seeks independence by wanting to go his own way. When he tells Tara about his addiction, she first says yes to marrying him, but she eventually changes her mind. He has nowhere else to turn to for support, so he decides to enter rehab to cut down on his drinking before their wedding.
Uri: The Surgical Strike
In 2016, 19 Indian troops were killed in an assault by the Pakistani military on an Indian military post. This film, titled “Uri,” follows the exploits of Col. Kapil Yadav (Kaushal), a member of the Para (Special Forces) who orchestrated surgical attacks across the Line of Control to retaliate against insurgent bases. Aside from Kirti Kulhari and Mohit Raina, well-known actors like Yami Gautam and Paresh Rawal also star in the film.

As the Indian constitution forbids any bias based on a person’s religion, ethnicity, caste, gender, or place of birth, it seemed like a fitting inspiration for the film’s title. Caste-based prejudice in real life inspired the film, including the 2014 Badaun gang rape charges and the 2016 Una flogging case. In the rural community of Laalgaon, two Dalit girls are abducted off a school bus by a group of men. Ayan Ranjan, a graduate of St. Stephen’s College in Delhi and a current officer in the Indian Police Service, now serves as the Additional Superintendent of Police at Laalgaon.
Gully Boy
Indian filmmaker Zoya Akhtar’s 2019 film 9xmovies Gully Boy follows the formative years of aspiring street rapper Murad Ahmed in the Dharavi slums of Mumbai. Murad Ahmed is a twenty-one-year-old senior from the Dharavi slums of Mumbai. His alcoholic, violent father, Aftab Shakir Ahmed, has married again. But nobody in the family is thrilled about the new addition. Murad is engaged to be married to Safeena Firdausi, a long-term, clingy lover, but he still can’t seem to shake his curiosity and interest in rap music.
Badhaai Ho
In the 2018 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama Badhaai Ho, a middle-aged couple unexpectedly becomes pregnant, much to the dismay of their kids. At 26, Nakul Kaushik has found love and committed himself to his coworker Renee. Sangeeta, her mom, is OK with them being together. His father, Jeetender “Jeetu” Kaushik, is in his mid-50s and works for the Railways, while his mother, Priyamvada, is a typical Indian homemaker. Gullar, Jeetu’s older brother, is a sophomore in high school. Whenever Priyamvada’s grandmother Durga visits, she and his mother get into an argument.
Andhadhun
Andhadhun, a blind pianist, finds himself in the center of a murder and unwittingly gets implicated. Akash Saraf is a teenage pianist in Pune who pretends to be blind to challenge himself musically. Yet, when crossing the street, Sophie accidentally knocks him down. As Sophie takes care of Akash, they eventually form an intense connection. She sees Akash’s potential and works to get him employed at her father’s cafe.
Raazi
The Indian film Raazi, released in 2018, is based on the real-life account of a woman who served as an agent with the Research and Analysis Wing in Pakistan in the years leading up to the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. The movie was directed by Meghna Gulzar, co-produced by Vineet Jain and Shabinaa Khan, and distributed by White Feather Films Pvt Ltd. Sehmat is played by Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal plays Kabir Malik, and Jaideep Ahlawat plays Khalid Mirza.
Stree
The Karnataka urban legend Nale Ba inspired this hilariously terrifying Hindi comedy film. In one telling of the tale, the witch is a lovely lady by day but transforms into a hideous old hag when she dons a man’s garments at night. Several reported disappearances of men during religious festivals in the town of Chanderi, where the locals think the ghost of Stree chases and abducts them.
