Aqiqah Shah Alam

Aqiqah shah alam is a part of the Islamic teachings. It is a way of expressing love and respect to Allah.

It is also a means to build a relationship with your child and teach them about Islam. It is important to perform it regularly.

Aqiqah is a very simple prayer to do with your child. It is a great way to learn about Islam and the importance of being good Muslims.

What is Aqiqah?

Aqiqah is a special rite performed on the seventh day after birth. It consists of giving the baby a name, shaving its head and offering a sacrifice.

The baby’s name is typically a compound word containing one of Allah’s 99 names or the name of a prophet or a holy figure. It is also common to name a boy after a member of the family or a prophet from early Islam.

It is a pious act that helps the parents and the child. It is a Sunnah to perform it on the 7th day of the birth or as soon as possible.

It is also a way to thank God for the gift of a new baby. It also purifies the baby from the impurities of this world and enables them to begin life in the presence of Allah.

What is Aqiqah and Qurban?

The sacrifice of an animal (or animals) performed by the parents or guardians of a child on the occasion of his birth is called “Aqiqah.” It was a tradition practiced by Prophet Muhammad and his companions, to show gratitude for Allah’s blessing.

It is a mustahab sunnah and is recommended for newborns. It can be performed on the day of the baby’s birth or seven days later if the mother cannot perform it at that time.

For a newborn boy, parents should slaughter two goats or sheep, while for a girl, they should sacrifice one. The condition of the animals is also similar to the condition of those slaughtered for Qurbani – cows must be more than 3 years old, goats must be more than 2 years old, and camels must be over six years old.

The meat of the aqiqah is distributed to relatives, neighbours and friends who are in need. It is a tradition to cook and serve this meat in a feast, and eat it as a special meal.

How to Perform Aqiqah?

Aqiqah is a Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and is performed on the seventh day after the birth of a newborn. It is performed by sacrificing an animal on behalf of the child and their parents and is a great way to show thankfulness and invoke Allah’s blessing.

A goat, sheep, or cow must be slaughtered for the Aqiqah. Camels must be at least 6 years old,(kambing aqiqah shah alam) cows at least 3 years and goats at least 2 years for the sacrifice.

In addition, the sacrificial animal must be in good condition – healthy and free from any forms of handicap like blindness, lameness, or broken horns. Aqiqah service providers must engage with farmers and livestock traders to ensure that the animals are of the correct standard for Qurbani and Aqiqah.

Aqiqah is traditionally performed on the seventh day after the birth of the baby, but there are no strict rulings against doing it at a later date. It is recommended that aqiqah be done before the child hits puberty.

What is the Difference Between Aqiqah and Qurban?

Aqiqah is the sunnah of sacrificing an animal in gratitude for the birth of a child. It is performed on the seventh day after a baby’s birth or on any subsequent seven days until the child reaches puberty.

Qurban, on the other hand, is an ibadah that Muslims perform to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) to sacrifice his son Ismail. It can be performed as often as necessary and is a highly encouraged sunnah muakkadah for those who are able to perform it.

The meat from the sacrificed animals is distributed among family members, friends and neighbours who are in need of nourishment. This enables them to eat nutritious food while being grateful for the blessings of Allah SWT.

Both aqiqah and Qurban are great ways to celebrate the birth of a child, as well as bringing us closer to our Creator. They are also beneficial for feeding the poor and needy, which is why they are so strongly recommended by Islam.
