REVIEW: Jalen - Travell's Pad EP

To some, Jalen may be a fairly recent addition to the footwork community but he has been working hard behind the scenes to consistently bring us great tracks. Partnering  with DJ Manny, Travell’s Pads is Jalen’s latest EP set to be released on the well-known UK label, Good Street Records later this month.

Holding his place in the game, he has other featured tracks via Juke Bounce Werk and Freshmoon Records, Anything from JBDubz Vol.4 and a collaboration on the ever popular End of Night EP with D’jo.

Travell’s Pads fuses classic and current Chicago house, blending  juke styles and a plethora of acid vibes, soul and catchy hooks. Both collaborations with Manny really anchor the whole EP but the last two solo efforts, Golden and Hott really stand apart and leave you wanting more.

Each track emphasises the variety in sounds used throughout music production particularly in juke/footwork. Throwing in elements of soul vocals and house beats making for an increasing appeal in all spectrums of electronic music. The follow up to this great effort can’t come soon enough.

The EP will be available May 25th, 2016 on Good Street Records via Juno Download.
