Questions when hiring housekeepers

Congratulations, you found the perfect home to buy! Right now you’re probably overwhelmed with information and looking for ways to get everything done. An important measure after receiving an approved contract is a property inspection. Like most articles on the internet, there is a wealth of information about home inspections and how to get them. But one underrepresented source may be the best out there: the housekeepers themselves. No, I don’t just want to read these sites because anyone can download whatever they want. Instead, we went to a reputable real estate inspection group and asked the following question: If you hired an inspector to inspect your foreign family member’s home inspectors Fort Collins CO, what questions would you ask them?

 What are your credentials?

If you live in one of the many states that have a housekeeper license that is the minimum requirement to do the job. As a team, we are looking for a Property Manager who has taken the time to gain additional qualifications beyond the minimum numbers. There are several home inspection organizations (both national and local) that certify home inspectors. The two main organizations are the International Association of Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) and the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). Both offer different qualification levels based on both experience and further education. InterNACHI holds Certified Professional Inspector and Certified Master Inspector certifications. ASHI holds ASHI Associate, Inspector and Certified Inspector certifications.

In states that don’t have a property manager licensing system, it’s even more important to make sure the property manager is certified because literally anyone can call themselves a property manager! In this case, it can be tempting to hire someone like a general contractor just to walk through the house. But as Andrew Jolly of Joda Home Inspections in Stansbury Park, Utah says, “Unlike contractors, home inspectors have a system that they follow, so they evaluate all the systems and leave nothing to chance.” In addition, a certified inspector is trained on all home systems, including performing inspections and inspecting the entire home as a system.

What information do you provide and when will I receive it?

Hopefully the legal representative will provide a written report that you can use to evaluate your mortgage. Nevertheless, the information differs in both style and detail. The inspection report shall contain a digital image of the defect as well as documentation of the system and the defects detected. Some content also includes videos, dictionaries and scripture, for example. Read the whole post if you have a summary!

The timing of the report must also be determined. As an inspector, we understand the strict deadlines set for you by your property manager, so we always report back to you as quickly as possible. Remember sometimes you have to do a little extra research, so don’t expect to get a report at the end of the inspection. Most inspectors are required to report back to you within 24 hours of completing the inspection.

How to choose the right housekeeper

Choosing the right real estate agent can be a daunting task, especially if you have never hired one before. After reading this article, you should know what questions to ask when interviewing prospects. Because all licensed agents must meet the same standards, many believe that all agents are created equal. Nothing could be further from the truth. If two inspectors inspect the same property, the inspection reports and conclusions may differ greatly. In short, some scouts work harder, are more experienced and more efficient than others. For example, some spies walk on the roof, climb into the attic and inspect the basement, while others do not. Therefore, the inspector must attend the inspection to see if he is doing his job. Here are some other things to consider when choosing the right property manager:

Property Manager License

Make sure the property manager is properly licensed. Most states require real estate agents to be licensed, check with your state real estate office. Real Estate Agent Experience – You will be surprised to know that anyone can become a licensed real estate agent in no time. While construction experience is beneficial, it is not essential. This may change in the future, but for now it’s enough to take the required classes at an accredited home inspectors Greeley CO inspection school and pass the state home inspection exam to be considered a housekeeper.
