What are backlinks? Backlinks are links to your website, blog or article from someone who cares enough about your website to reverse a link from their website to it. Backlinks are, in my opinion, the single most important factor in Google page placement. There are of course other very important aspects of SEO and they all need to work together, but I think that the wallet comes with quality backlinks.
Let’s take a look at the components that make a good backlink. First of all, it’s a link to your website, the link contains your targeted keywords with good anchor text, and the link is from a well-ranked like-minded website. You want the link to be from the same genre site as yours, but one that has more link juice or a solid Google Page Rank. This is the “Link Juice” that everyone talks about when it comes to a quality backlink. Also, having the right anchor text pointing to a specific page on your site relevant to the specifically targeted keywords is extremely important.
Dofollow or nofollow, that is the question here. Dofollow links are when you include in the HTML code instructions for the web crawlers or spiders to follow the links on your site. Obviously, a nofollow would tell the crawlers not to spider your links. The fun part is that there is no actual DoFollow HTML code, just code that tells the crawler not to follow, otherwise it will be considered a Backlinks kaufen link. The pros and cons of a DoFollow link are simple, the major benefit is that the search engines will crawl your links from other sites and come back to your site. This can be a big part of your link building efforts, not the only part, but a very important one. The bad side of dofollow is that you may be linking to a number of low-quality spam websites that can hurt your page rank. As for nofollow, some people use the nofollow links to protect the integrity of their websites. I don’t think this will be a big problem as long as you use quality sites to link to, so dofollow is the way to go in my opinion. A great tool to check whether or not a particular blog or website uses dofollow links is Nodofollow 1.1 , a Firefox add-on.
Question is how to get them, and valuable ones too, not just fluff, which is considered crap by the Google bot. You need to create a plan, a step-by-step list of what you need to do, and make sure you have all the ingredients for a good backlink. Gear up for Web 2.0 sites first, but don’t overdo it and make sure your articles and posts are human and not auto-generated. Also use document storage pages as they also rank very high. Then use an article directory that is well known and ranks well. Do five of each, then test the results. Rinse and repeat as the web property you create will pay dividends and are valuable backlinks to use in your linking strategy. You should also post on various blogs and video sites and just profile on several more. Once you’ve built that high quality property, start improving your position and content.
It’s hard work to get premium backlinks these days, there are no more freebies on the web, you have to work for good backlinks. Like I said, put together a step-by-step plan, like a guide to assembling a gas grill. If this is a bit much or you don’t have enough time to come up with an elaborate backlinking scheme, then consider buying a product that can do all the work for you.
