Top 5 Mobile Graphics Chips

Several different mobile graphics chips are available on the market today. This article looks at the Nvidia GeForce gtx 980mx, Exynos, Helio, and Density. All of these chips are capable of excellent graphics performance. However, not all of them are created equal.

Nvidia GeForce gtx 980mx

The Nvidia Geforce GTX 980MX is a mobile graphics chip that handles 4K resolutions. It is faster than the desktop GTX 980 and uses the same chip. Nvidia GeForce gtx 980mx has paired this card with 8 GB of GDDR5 memory. The memory is connected to the GPU through a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU operates at a 1050MHz base clock and can be boosted up to 1178 MHz. The memory is a high-speed memory that can run at speeds of up to six Gbps.

The GeForce GTX 980MX mobile graphics chip is based on the second revision of Maxwell architecture and features an impressive set of features. This graphics chip supports DirectX 12 and has a die area of 398 mm2. It features 2048 shaders, 1664 shading units, 104 texture mapping units, and 64 ROPs.

Exynos

Samsung’s Exynos mobile graphics chip has impressive mobile device capabilities. It can handle variable-rate shading, as well as a multi-IP governor system. According to a press release from the Korean company, Samsung expects to release several generations of Exynos-powered mobile graphics chips by the first quarter of 2022.

The Exynos 2200 chip also supports the latest LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It also has a 5G modem that works on mmWave and sub-6GHz frequencies. The chip also supports all the significant satellites and standards used in the global navigation. Its release date has not been officially announced, but rumours indicate that it could come out by the end of February.

Helio

The Helio mobile graphics chip is a competent graphics processor, which allows for excellent performance and high resolution. The chip is made by MediaTek and is available in select smartphone models. This chip is a part of a new series of chipsets explicitly designed for mobile gaming. The chipsets have Arm Cortex-A53 octa-core CPUs and IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPUs. They also have MediaTek HyperEngine technology, which improves the gaming experience.

The Helio G85 SoC was first teased with the US$200 Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 and is a notch above the Helio G80. This week, MediaTek officially announced the specs for the Helio G85. The chipset features minor performance bumps, notable connectivity optimizations, a 48-megapixel camera sensor, and AI features.

Density

The Density of mobile graphics chips is a measure of graphics chip performance. Mediatek’s Density 8000 series is a good example. It has a ten-core GPU, up to 20% faster than its current flagship, while delivering 60% more power efficiency. It is also capable of supporting ray tracing through the Vulkan API. The chip is built in 12nm and is available in many phones. However, it does not help mmWave support, an essential feature for the US market.

The latest Dimensity 9000 chip is based on Arm’s v9 architecture and is the first mobile chip to include a Cortex-X2 core. It also features a 1MB L2 cache per core. The other substances are Cortex-A710, with speeds of up to 2.85GHz and 1.8GHz. They share 8MB of L3 cache and 6MB of system cache.

Snapdragon

If you’re buying a new smartphone, you may want to consider the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or the Adreno 660 graphics chip. Each chip has different benefits and drawbacks. If unsure which chip is best, look at the technical specs and benchmarks.

Snapdragon phones have a higher refresh rate, better video quality, and more. The company has also improved its camera capabilities. Its new camera software, called Sight, supports 8K video capture with real-time HDR. It also helps enhance low-light processing. Other new features include a dedicated bokeh video engine and ultra-wide distortion correction. Qualcomm also sees a growing market for premium smartphones. While only 31 per cent of the market currently belongs to this segment, it expects that share to rise to 35 per cent in five years. It predicts that 75 per cent of smartphone revenue will come from this segment. In addition, the company believes that mobile gaming will account for half of the $200 billion global gaming market.
