Although many seem the same to us, not all laptops are made for the same audience. There are categories that serve, among other things, to separate them by the capabilities they have or the users they are aimed at.
These aspects are very important when choosing the next computer equipment that will accompany us at school work or both. In order not to confuse us and try to make the differences as clear as possible here is a brief explanation of what they are and what a Laptop, Notebook, Netbook and Ultrabook could do for us.
Laptops / Notebooks:
These types of computers are designed for higher-level students or businessmen. Verschil Tussen Een Netbook En Een Laptop Who require a work tool capable of keeping them connected at a distance and that also offers the possibility of playing movies on DVD or even Blu-ray in high definition as well as playing titles with demanding graphics.
They usually have a good processor (this translates into optimal performance in terms of information processing) a screen with the ability to reproduce images in high definition. Multiple connection ports (including HDMI to transfer audio and video in high definition on the same channel and USB 3.0 inputs for higher speed of information transfer).
Speakers with true sound fidelity, multimedia options such as having a webcam to make video calls and the ability to handle complex software such as AutoCAD for architects or engineers or some others to edit video or audio. They are also very useful when it comes to managing design programs.
The difference between laptops and notebooks lies in the size of their screen since in the latter it is a little smaller. Which makes them more portable and suitable for taking them everywhere.
Users who have a computer that falls into one of these two categories will be able to do any work that is done on a Desktop so they won’t need a desktop to serve as a backup.
Netbooks:
Ideal for students or professionals who want a laptop that is an extension of their desktop computer. That is that allows them to have a reliable Internet connection to be able to check emails or accounts on social networks. Manage text files and aspects multimedia such as audio and video playback although in both cases the quality is lower in definition and fidelity compared to laptops and notebooks.
Its processor is less powerful compared to that of laptops and netbooks this limits the activities that can be carried out (for example, editing video or audio). Its structure is extremely compact (this aspect has its point in favor in terms of portability).
Unfortunately, they do not have a disc reader unit they only have ports such as USB 2.0 or Ethernet to connect directly to the network. They do not support games with demanding graphics so we don’t recommend buying one thinking it will be your next gaming station.
The memory they have is limited, so we do not recommend that you save many videos or photos because it will be saturated quickly.
Ultrabooks
If you are a professional who is constantly traveling and requires a portable computer, but powerful at the same time, here is the option you were looking for and did not exist before.
It is a new category that recently emerged as a different option to the successful tablet devices.
Its main feature is its ultra-thin body and its excellent performance in both information processing and battery life. Most of the models come with second-generation processors with which you can handle editing or design programs without problems.
They have HDMI, USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, but unfortunately it has the limitation of not having a disc drive, so it is only limited to playing movies or information via the Internet.
Thanks to their compact structure and excellent capabilities, they are becoming preferred by consumers.
